Stop Text Bully
Myleene is strongly passionate about the work of Stop Text Bully. A campaign set up by NCH, the children’s charity, a website works to help children who are bullied by the use of mobile phones, via threatening texts, nasty calls, or abusive photographs or e-mails. Myleene helps promote the work of the charity to help prevent the occurrence of bullying by use of technology.
Speaking to the BBC, Myleene said; "It goes to show that as horrific as we find it, it's actually going on and rather than deny it we've got to say to our children that we acknowledge that it's out there but that they also have an option that they should not feel intimidated. The website enables them to get in contact and know how to deal with the bullying. I think it's very important to tackle the problem head-on and not shy away from it.
Ironically, in 2005 Myleene herself became the victim of a cowardly and disgusting attack, in which a group of teenagers attacked her, and tried to take photographs of the attack on their mobile phones. This is exactly the type of activity Myleene tries to prevent in her work with Stop Text Bully.
