The People's Quiz

Do you know your Grieg from your Girls Aloud? Do you know who won the last FA Cup or the first Big Brother? Well you could be in with a chance of winning a life-changing guaranteed jackpot of £200,700.

The People's Quiz 2007 was a new Saturday night game show where everybody had a chance!

Auditions were held in January all over the UK from major cities to places such as the Eden Project in Cornwall, and a lifeboat station in Northern Ireland. The People's Quiz took the competition to the people and thousands of contestants turned up to test their general knowledge. Some were indeed the finest minds around - but some travelled more in hope than expectation.

The tournament began on BBC One on Saturday 24th March 2007 and showed how pressure can make the sharpest minds crumble, it let you share the wide range of plans people have if they win the £200,700 and provided plenty of tears of both joy and despair as dreams come true or fall apart.

We caught up with Myleene and quizzed her about working on The People's Quiz and her own top five facts about the show.

1. William G Stewart knows everything about everything.

2. The answers to the quiz are already out there, so everybody's got a fair chance of winning - from professor to pensioner!

3. The strangest places I went to look for contestants involved asking questions on a rugby field at a university and in a swimming pool!

4. My Achilles heel if I was taking part in The People's Quiz would be anything to do with sport, I'm rubbish in that area.

5. My favourite silly answer was the 80-year-old man who was asked "Asterix the Gaul fought which enemy?" Instead of Romans, his answer was Klingons!
